The Laser Video Eye-Tracking System was developed in Canada at one of the worlds most prestigious Universities, by Canadian Scientists and Researchers.  We believe it facilitates advanced Driver Training in all ground vehicles and optimizes Simulation Training for Truck, Bus, Police High Speed Pursuit, Fire and Ambulance Emergency Response Driver Training.

The system was initially developed to train U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter pilots.  It is mission critical that fighter pilots scan the horizon and their cockpit instruments in a very specific sequence, and timing, i.e., scanning each information gauge (down to the digital: within the gauge) correctly.

It is also mission critical for drivers to scan the road ahead, their wing mirrors etc.  The Eye-Tracking System can evaluate, train and certify their scanning and hazard perception skills, visually, with sequential statistical data.

If the trainer is just visually observing the pilot (or student driver)  they can only get a general idea of where their eyes are focused.  The Eye-Tracking System literally enables the trainer to see through the pilot/drivers eyes exactly and in real time, where their eyes are focused and their sequentially statistical scanning pattern.

Human Factors Engineering:
The Eye-Tracking System is also used to evaluate prototype dashboard or cockpit design layouts etc, or the placement of a new instruments, prior to production.  What in theory is thought to be the optimum layout, is not necessarily so!

The Eye-Tracker System is significantly superior to any other system on the market, either military or commercial.  It has been proven over time by both the military and commercial users.  There are systems with cameras that just observe the pilot / drivers face and eye movements.  However, they are nowhere near as accurate as they do not allow the trainer to see exactly what the pilot / driver sees, in real time.

In addition to the image the trainer sees of the pilots / drivers sequential scanning pattern, which is displayed on a monitor in real time, very detailed statistical data is also recorded.  This can be analysed and interpreted by searchers or Human Factors Engineers.  GLT can provide this analysis or we can train people to do it themselves

The Eye-Tracking System provides companies with an opportunity to fully implement the use of Best Practices.  This can reduce the risk of lawsuits and punitive damage awards.

Introduces to the North American Transportation Industry…….The Revolutionary Patented, “Environmentally Friendly” Foam Air Engine Filter.

Used by 90% of buses in the UK and trucking companies it is now being tested by some of North America’s largest Transportation Companies.

(Key Benefits)
·Can increase corporate profitability by millions of $$
·Lasts 4 to 6 times longer than paper filters
·Operates better than paper filters in high dust / high humidity areas
·Reduces solid waste by 4 to 6 times that of paper
·Environmentally friendly - no more trees sacrificed!
·Protects engine life against premature wear

The Environmentally Friendly Foam Air Engine Filter is designed and manufactured by Filtration Control Ltd UK and has been used for over 20 years.
The benefits of Foam Air Engine Filters over traditional paper filters are proven and detailed below:

KEY ADVANTAGES OF RETICULATED FOAM AIR FILTERS
·Significantly greater filter life lasting 4 to 6 times longer than paper filters.
·Assists engine operates at peak efficiency reducing fuel usage.
·Greater initial efficiency in excess of 99%, protecting the engine to maximum.
·Filters have closed cell foam seals for better sealing when fitting.
·Can be produced with Integral lids for ease of fitment.
·Not affected at all by carbon and moisture, unlike paper.
·Developed in conjunction with Mira since 1980
·Used by 90% of the UK bus industry.
·Reticulated foam produced within ±2 pores and reticulated by gas blown method, NOT chemically blown
·Full test and backup facility available in our in-house test laboratory.
·All filters treated in FCL developed synthetic plastisizer.
·Outer layers have patented dimple profile.

These elements are made from to 7 layers of 5 different porosities starting open / coarse porosity on the outside to a virtually closed / fine porosity on the inside.
The foam layers are like an ever tightening honeycomb that grades the particles from the course to fine as the air passes through the filter. This is known as a depth media.
To achieve high levels of efficiency required to protect an automotive engine, the foam has to have a special additive coated on to the surface of the strands of foam.
This is so that the dust particles can stick to the foam and become part of the filter.
The particle will then soak up the additive and become wet allowing further dust particles to stick to it. This is known as "wetting".

Conclusions
All the above information was produced on a laboratory flow bench, which gives the lowest possible readings of dust holding capacity, that a foam filter can achieve. This is due to the accelerated time of the test duration, which does not allow the dust particles to become wet with FCL's unique dirt retention additive.

In real life, the concentration of dust in the airstream, is considerably less than that which is used on the flow bench. Therefore, dust holding capacities are much larger in every day use, where the airflow is not at maximum for all the filters life, but is varied due to the vehicle being on and off the throttle throughout its working day.

This will therefore give foam filter a life that is four to six times greater than paper media, giving us the ability to guarantee long life. A minimum of twice the life of paper is shown in the test results In addition to full life efficiency determinations, incremental efficiencies were determined at 10, 25, 50% of the terminating pressure (minus the initial difference) so that the level of protection can be observed throughout the full lifecycle of the filter. The foam filter has a higher initial efficiency than the pleated paper media, giving greater protection to the engine, therefore it is vitally important that filters are not changed too frequently and are left until the maximum restriction of the system is attained. This can only be properly controlled by the use of a gauge(FCL007), that measures the restriction in the whole of the intake system and not by visual appearance.

The foam filter also has an equivalent value for its initial pressure difference, although it is slightly higher, this is soon insignificant as once 10% life has been achieved, the contaminants on the filter is at least three times greater than that of the paper filter. This will therefore mean that for an equivalent amount of contaminant to the paper media, the restriction will be considerably less, giving rise for more efficient running of the engine. It can be clearly seen that for maximum life and maximum protection, the "BLUE DIAMOND" filter must be fitted.

Using a graduated indicator will give an increase in life on a paper filter but an outstanding increase in life of a foam cleaner.
