The Laser Video Eye-Tracking System was developed in Canada at one of the worlds most prestigious Universities, by Canadian Scientists and Researchers.  We believe it facilitates advanced Driver Training in all ground vehicles and optimizes Simulation Training for Truck, Bus, Police High Speed Pursuit, Fire and Ambulance Emergency Response Driver Training.

The system was initially developed to train U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter pilots.  It is mission critical that fighter pilots scan the horizon and their cockpit instruments in a very specific sequence, and timing, i.e., scanning each information gauge (down to the digital: within the gauge) correctly.

It is also mission critical for drivers to scan the road ahead, their wing mirrors etc.  The Eye-Tracking System can evaluate, train and certify their scanning and hazard perception skills, visually, with sequential statistical data.

If the trainer is just visually observing the pilot (or student driver)  they can only get a general idea of where their eyes are focused.  The Eye-Tracking System literally enables the trainer to see through the pilot/drivers eyes exactly and in real time, where their eyes are focused and their sequentially statistical scanning pattern.

Human Factors Engineering:
The Eye-Tracking System is also used to evaluate prototype dashboard or cockpit design layouts etc, or the placement of a new instruments, prior to production.  What in theory is thought to be the optimum layout, is not necessarily so!

The Eye-Tracker System is significantly superior to any other system on the market, either military or commercial.  It has been proven over time by both the military and commercial users.  There are systems with cameras that just observe the pilot / drivers face and eye movements.  However, they are nowhere near as accurate as they do not allow the trainer to see exactly what the pilot / driver sees, in real time.

In addition to the image the trainer sees of the pilots / drivers sequential scanning pattern, which is displayed on a monitor in real time, very detailed statistical data is also recorded.  This can be analysed and interpreted by searchers or Human Factors Engineers.  GLT can provide this analysis or we can train people to do it themselves

The Eye-Tracking System provides companies with an opportunity to fully implement the use of Best Practices.  This can reduce the risk of lawsuits and punitive damage awards.
